Honoring Maurice R. “Hank” Greenberg: A legacy of leadership and innovation
We sadly announce that Starr’s former chairman, Maurice R. “Hank” Greenberg, died [date] from natural causes. He was [ninety-nine] years old.
As Starr’s chairman and ceo, he built our organization into a leading global insurance group operating on five continents. Until shortly before his death, he was only the second ceo in Starr’s 105-year history. Hank retired from his positions at Starr in March 2024.
Hank was a dynamic, innovative leader who cared a great deal about his employees and constantly pushed us all to do our best. He left a solid foundation in place, notably, Starr’s strong reputation in the investment community, an outstanding insurance franchise, and a deeply committed team.
All of us at Starr will miss Hank’s leadership and relentless pursuit of excellence, but the values he instilled in all of us is a legacy that will help to ensure our success in the years ahead.
